Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois (BCBS IL) will be the NEW medical carrier for the 2026-2027 plan year!

Whetstone will continue to provide a triple plan option, allowing employees to choose from two PPO plans or a High Deductible Health Plan with an HSA option.

There have been some changes to the plan designs and networks. Please view the benefits guide to review the plan offerings.

Because your medical plan's deductible follows the calendar year, BCBS IL will provide credit for the deductible you've already satisfied under the previous medical carrier (UHC).

If you would like your deductible credit applied sooner, you may upload an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from UHC directly into your BCBS IL member portal, for review and processing. Otherwise, no action is required. BCBS IL will automatically process your deductible credit based on the eligibility and claims information they receive, and the credit is expected to be applied to your BCBS IL plan in November.
